Podiatry is that medical or health discipline or speciality that is dedicated to the study, diagnosis along with treatment associated with disorders of the foot, ankle and also the lower leg. Most countries around the world use the word podiatry or podiatrist, but chiropody and chiropodist remains used in various countries, such as the Great Britain, Ireland and some parts of Canada. In the Uinted States, podiatrists are more medically and surgically qualified in comparison to some other countries. In the UK as well as Australia and New Zealand, podiatrists might get the surgical qualification after initially qualifying as a podiatrist, whereas within the USA, surgical treatment is part of the fundamental qualification.
