A friend of mine has been driving trucks here in the UK for over 10 years.  He has enjoyed not having a rigid schedule on a daily basis and plans to continue driving for a while.  When his insurance policy expired recently, he was going to try to drive without insurance.  I warned him against doing that.  It is better to be safe than to be sorry.  You might save a couple pounds each month, but it is more expensive if you ever get into an accident.  Luckily, he renewed his cheap lorry insurance so he is still driving while insured.
