The Reality in A Zen Koan

Zen stories are the story of life, many of them have been written down for our study and use. The Zen stories I’m talking about are called koans and one good place to start to get a handle on what koans can offer us is the book The Iron Flute. A Zen koan attempts to get us to see the here and now as it really is not as we want it to be. If it’s raining then it is raining, it wouldn’t seem that people could have different views of such an occurrence but indeed we do and that is why Zen and the study of koans are needed more then ever. Zen offers us a clear path our of confusion and suffering by using the simple techniques of meditation and koans, I highly recommend The Iron Flute to anyone interested in seeing a bit more clearly.
