Turkish and American Wedding Traditions

Turkish wedding ceremonies differ quite a bit from American ones, and we are going to strive to have a combination of the best of both. For example,. there will not be a wedding party, but there will have witnesses. In Turkish weddings, brides and grooms walk down the aisle without any preamble, but are accompanied by fireworks. Then, Turkish couples sit down at a table to sign a wedding contract.
For our wedding, we’d like a little more ritual than that. In our case, since both Turkish and American weddings highlight the bride and groom’s first dance, afterward we’ll visit each guest and collect gold coins, Turkey style.
We’re thrilled and feel very, very incredibly lucky to have an immensely talented photographer from a New York City, who, in our opionion, is the best of all the nyc wedding photographers we considered, flying in for the occasion, to photograph our wedding with her highly acclaimed documentary approach.
